Choosing Your Game: League Types & Formats
Getting started is a simple two-step process: choose your league type, then choose your game format.
Step 1: Choose Your League Type
Private League
The classic experience. Create a league and invite friends to compete. Up to 10 players can participate in a private league.
Public League
Want to jump straight into the action? Join a public league to test your skills. Public leagues have a standard size of 6 players.
Step 2: Choose Your Game Format
Both Private and Public leagues can be played in any of the following tournament formats:
8-Match Campaign
A strategic tournament that lasts for eight matchweeks.
Rest of Season
The ultimate tournament that runs for all remaining matches of the European season.
The Draft: Building Your Roster
This is where you become a manager. You and your leaguemates will fill your roster with legendary super clubs in a live "snake draft." Each manager drafts a total of 6 clubs.
Rounds 1-4: Building Your Foundation
In the first four rounds, you must select exactly one club from each of the four major real-world leagues: the English Premier League, Spain's La Liga, Germany's Bundesliga, and Italy's Serie A. The order in which you select from these leagues is up to you.
Rounds 5-6: The Wildcard Clubs
Your final two picks are "Wildcard Clubs." For these picks, you may select any two additional clubs from any of the four real-world leagues.
The Klubez Weekly Cycle
Each week in Klubez follows a clear schedule based on US Eastern Time.
The Matchweek (Friday - Wednesday)
This is when real-world matches happen and your active clubs earn you points. It opens each Friday at 12:00 AM US Eastern Time and closes the following Wednesday at 11:59 PM US Eastern Time.
Transfers: The Free Agent Market (Closes Wednesday)
You can improve your roster by picking up an available club from the free agent pool. You may add one (1) new club per week, and you must drop one club from your current roster to make room.
- Deadline: All transfer requests must be submitted by Wednesday at 11:59 PM US Eastern Time.
- Waiver Priority: If multiple managers request the same free agent club, the claim is awarded to the manager with the lower rank in the overall League Standings.
- Critical Rule: You must always have at least one club from each of the four core real-world leagues on your 6-club roster.
The Activation Window (All Day Thursday)
Thursday is "Club Activation Day," the dedicated day to set your lineup for the upcoming matchweek. You must select which 4 clubs will be "Active" and which 2 will be "Inactive."
Setting Your Weekly Lineup
Lineups must be set during the Activation Window on Thursday. If you do not make any changes, your lineup from the previous week will automatically roll over.
Important: If you transfer a club out of your active roster, the new club will take its active spot. However, your active roster must always contain one club from each of the four major real-world leagues. If your transfer would cause a violation of this rule, an eligible club from your roster will be activated to maintain a valid lineup.
Winning the Tournament
Each week, your Total Weekly Score (Club Points + Bonus Points) is added to your cumulative total in the League Standings. At the end of the final matchweek of your tournament, the manager with the most cumulative points is crowned the champion.
Tournament Tie-Breaker Rules
In the event of a tie in the final League Standings, the champion is determined first by the highest total aggregate goal difference, and then by the highest total aggregate goals scored.
Scoring: How You Earn Points Each Week
Points are earned based on your active clubs' real-world performance during the matchweek. Goals, wins, clean sheets, and other achievements all contribute to your weekly score. Make sure to activate your strongest clubs and monitor their fixtures!
